Day 1: Arrival and transfer to volcanoes national park

A representative of our tour company will welcome you to Rwanda on day one of your 2-day Mount Karasimbi hike safari upon your arrival in Rwanda at the Kigali international airport or at the location of your choice in Kigali city. Rwanda is known as the land of 1000 hills, and the hills are evident throughout the country offering exceptional rewards.

During the briefing, your guide will explain your 2 day hike to Mount Karisimbi, as well as the rules and regulations to follow during your stay in the park.

Upon completion of the briefing session, your 2 days hike to Mount Karasimbi will officially begin with a tour of Kigali, which will provide you with a wealth of information and experience as you learn more about the people of Rwanda. For example, visiting the Kigali genocide memorial museum will enable you to gain a deeper understanding of the events that led to the 1994 Rwandan genocide.

A visit to the museum will provide a detailed understanding of what transpired during the dark period of the country as you explore the various exhibition areas. You will also have the opportunity to visit the presidential palace where the then Rwandan president’s plane was shot down and he died as a result of this, which led to the massive killing of Tutsis that led to the Rwandan genocide in 1994.

During the Kigali city tour, you will also visit Kimironko market where you can purchase a variety of products made by the locals, including African fabrics, souvenirs, fresh organic fruits, etc.

Upon completing your city tour of Kigali, you will have lunch and proceed to Ruhengeri, where you will experience the volcanoes national park.

As soon as you arrive at the park, you will be transferred to your hotel where you will enjoy refreshments, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Alternatively, in the evening, you may choose to participate in community walks in the Ibyiwacu village, where you will learn about the people of Rwanda through dance performances, cultural dishes, and cultural performances, among other informative yet entertaining activities.

Day 2: Mount Karisimbi hike

After a morning breakfast at your hotel on day two of your 2-day mount karisimbi hike safari, you will be picked up by your guide for your safari in Rwanda, volcanoes national park. You will then be transported to the park headquarters for the mount karisimbi hike following the briefing session in which you will learn more about the safety regulations and rules to follow during the activity.

If you are lucky enough, you will also get to see the habituated gorilla families on the slopes of the mountain like the Susa gorilla family, you will get to see a number of primates in the trees swinging from one tree branch to another and these may include the vervet monkey, mona monkey, black and white colobus monkey, golden monkeys among other monkey species at the end of your hiking adventure on the mountain, you will head back to your starting point where you will be picked by your guide and drop you off at a location of your choice in Kigali city or Kigali international airport and the end of your 2 days mount Karisimbi hike safari.
