DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Pick up and drive Kigali to Ruhengeri – Volcanoes national park

On the 1st day of your 3 Days Gorilla trekking Rwanda, Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport or from the city center of Kigali, we will pick you up from the hotel for the first day of your 3 days gorilla trekking safari.

Take a brief city tour of the city to explore some of the attractions in the city, including the Genocide memorial sites, the kimironko market, and a variety of other interesting sites that make the city of Kigali an interesting place to visit.

Following the city tour, you will enjoy a meal at any hotel in the Kigali city area before continuing your journey to the Ruhengeri-Volcanoes national park.

After receiving your Rwanda gorilla trekking permit from the park headquarters, you will be transported to the lodge you have reserved for your stay, where you can check in, eat, and rest for the evening.

During your 3-day gorilla trekking safari in Rwanda, it is advisable to have breakfast early, pack snacks and water, and be ready to meet your fellow trekkers at the briefing ground after you have been transferred from your lodge. On this day, you will be able to meet other trekkers as you learn more about the mountain gorilla trekking process, what to do and don’t do, and many other essential information before embarking on your adventure to search for the mountain gorillas in their natural environment.

Gorilla trekking in Rwanda’s volcanoes national park takes about 2 – 7 hours depending on the gorillas’ movement since they are found wandering the forest in search of food when they are in search of the gorillas.

In order to make sure that these gorillas leave their nests as early as possible in the morning, trekkers must arise as early as possible in order to begin an early morning trek.

Upon finding these gorillas, trekkers are allowed to spend up to one hour in their presence, recording short videos of these amazing creatures, taking pictures and many other things. An hour spent with these primates is so rewarding and you will surely enjoy it. After an hour has elapsed, exit the habitat of the gorillas and head to the lodge for a relaxed evening.

In the evenings, there are various optional activities that guests can participate in, including visiting the Iby’Iwacu cultural village, taking a guided walk around the twin lakes of Burela and Ruhondo, and many more.

Day 3: Return to Kigali

On the 3rd day of your 3 Days Gorilla trekking Rwanda, Depending on the details of your flight to Rwanda, you may enjoy your morning breakfast at the lodge on the third day of your 3 days Gorilla trekking safari in Rwanda after which the lodge will check you out and you will be driven back to Kigali. As a final destination, you will either be at a hotel in Kigali for your departure or at the Kigali international airport for your arrival.
