Day 1: Drive from Kigali and cross to Bukavu.
Your driving guide will be there to take you to Kahuzi Biega after you have got your test results and are permitted to move. You will be expected to start the 8-hour travel early in the morning. You will travel through Butare on your way south from Rwanda, where you might pause for lunch and a visit to the Butare museum.
You will continue driving until you reach the Rusizi border, where you will register and travel over to Bukavu town. As you wait for supper and a night’s stay, you will check into your hotel and make yourself at home.

Day 2: Lowland gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Biega national park.
On the 2nd day of your 3 days Kahuzi Biega national park Safari, Before beginning any activity, get up very early, eat a quick breakfast at your hotel, and then head out to the Kahuzi Biega national park for a morning briefing. A few pointers on what to anticipate and the expected behavior while in the forest will be provided by the ranger guides. After that, you will hire whatever equipment you might need, such as porters or walking sticks, and then set off into the forest.
Before meeting your daily gorilla family, you must hike for roughly two hours. After spending a lovely hour with them at a distance of six meters, you will leave the forest and re-connect with your driving guide, who will transport you back to your hotel in time for a late lunch.
You might go on a guided neighborhood tour in the evening and return to the hotel in time for dinner and a second night.
Day 3: Drive back to Kigali.
Get up in time for breakfast at your accommodation, then gather your belongings in preparation for the drive back to Kigali. You will depart from Bukavu in 10 minutes, travel into Rwanda, and then start your 8-hour transfer back to Kigali via the Nyungwe forest. If this wasn’t possible the day before, you may visit the Butare museum on the way.
According on your preference, you will drive to Butare or Gisakura for lunch en way before continuing on to Kigali for drop-off at the hotel or the airport, as you have specified.
