 Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Akagera national park.

 On the first day of 5 days Rwanda Gorilla trekking and wildlife safari. In keeping with your communication, you will be welcomed and picked up from Kigali city on the first day of the Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife Safari, either at a hotel or directly from the airport. After greeting and introducing himself, your guide will take you on a city tour of Kigali during which you will enjoy seeing places like the Kimironko market, retail malls, and the Kigali genocide memorial centre. Before travelling to Akagera national park, the only savanna park in Rwanda, have your lunch in Kigali city. It takes 1-2 hours to get here from Kigali city. You will check into your lodge when you get to the park, have dinner and stay the night.

Day 2: Morning Game drive and afternoon boat cruise.

On the second day of the 5 days Rwanda Gorilla trekking and wildlife safari. Get up in the morning and you will eat breakfast before setting out on a morning game drive in Akagera national park on the second day of the Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Rwanda Wildlife Safari. Animals roaming this savanna area can be seen up close on game drives in Akagera National area. The only savannah park in Rwanda, Akagera National Park is known for housing a variety of animal species. While on a game drive, you can enjoy seeing creatures like lions, rhinos, zebras, impalas, giraffes, Topis, elephants, and more.

Numerous bird species, including Senegal lapwings, enormous kingfishers, grey-crowned cranes, open-billed stock, papyrus Gonolek, and many others, will also be seen. After your wildlife drive, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch before spending the rest of the day on a boat tour of Lake Ihema. You will enjoy breathtaking sights of various aquatic creatures, such as hippos, crocodiles, water fowl, and many more, as you sail through Lake Ihema. Return to your lodge later in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay as described above.

Day 3: Transfer to volcanoes national park.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on day three of the 5 days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife Safari before checking out of the lodge and departing for the 4-5 hour journey from Akagera national park to Volcanoes national park with a layover in Kigali city. Following clearance at the park headquarters, you will continue to the lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation where you will be pick up the gorilla trekking permit.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park.

 In the morning of day four of the Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife Safari, have your breakfast served before being driven to the park headquarters for a briefing with other trekkers at 7:00am. Then, set out on your gorilla trekking adventure through the wilds of Volcanoes National Park. After receiving a briefing, enter the jungle to look for habituated mountain gorillas that are open to hiking.

After landing on the gorillas, spend an hour watching them, taking pictures, and learning about some of their behaviors, such as feeding, nursing, and copulating, before being transferred back to your lodge to freshen up before an evening cultural tour to the Iby’wacu cultural village.
