3 days Rwanda gorillas and golden monkey safari : Take part in a third gorilla and golden monkey safari in Rwanda over the course of three days in Volcanoes National Park. You will trek gorillas in Rwanda and search for golden monkeys on this excursion.
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
On this day, you will be met by a representative of our company and a guide who will take you to Volcanoes National Park, the habitat of the critically endangered mountain gorillas, depending on where in Kigali city you are when you arrive. From Kigali city to Musanze province, the travel takes two to three hours. Connection to your accommodation in Ruhengeri to unwind, have dinner, and spend the night. Day 2: An encounter with gorillas.
You will be taken to the park headquarters, Kinigi, for a briefing on the endangered mountain gorillas from the park warden following an early-morning breakfast. The vehicle will drop you off at the gorilla trek start location with your trekking supplies, water, and a packed lunch. Then, you can begin your journey with the ranger guides.
Depending on how the gorillas walk, this exercise could take anywhere from one to eight hours. Although meeting them is really fulfilling, you will only get an hour with them at most because you will want to spend that time researching them and recording films and images. Return to the base and meet your driver to continue on to your lodge for lunch and a break after spending time with the magnificent mountain gorillas.
Take a cultural tour to Iby’iwachu Cultural Village after lunch if you have time. This non-profit organization’s mission is to improve the lives of former poachers and the communities surrounding Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park through the provision of conservation incentives, support for community enterprise development, and livelihood-based projects.
It’s a rewarding location where you’ll be shown about while taking in Kinyarwanda customs like the Intore dance, traditional ceremonies, and a lead community stroll. Day 3: Golden Monkeys tracking and return to Kigali.
Go to the park headquarters after an early morning breakfast for a briefing on the endangered golden monkeys from the park guide. In order to find the rare golden monkey, connect to the tracking starting point and then enter the forest. This activity can last between one and five hours and involves getting up close to other primates in the park, including vervet and red-tailed monkeys.
After spending an hour watching the rare golden monkeys, photographing them, and observing their antics, head back to the base to meet your lunchtime driver. And finally, link to Kigali city, where you should spend some time to see the city’s craft markets and genocide memorial. Then, the driver will take you to the airport to catch your homebound aircraft as scheduled.
